Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to produce the magazine's first annual ranking of the best insurance companies in each state, recognizing companies for five different insurance products: Auto, Homeowners, Renters, Term Life, and Permanent Life Insurance. Customers were surveyed for their opinions on their insurance relationships and were asked to evaluate insurance products based on financial advice, customer service, price-performance ratio, transparency, and damage/benefit service.
